
David Chalmers has worked in commercial photography for twenty five years. He was trained at Blackpool photographic college, which directed him towards a valuable apprenticeship with London's top advertising photographer Graham Ford. This is where David learnt the skilful craft of studio lighting, and worked on many prestigious campaigns such as Benson & Hedges, Silk Cut, BMW and Volvo.
In 1991, David set up his own studio in central London and specialised in still-life photography. Using his refined vision and superb craft David went on to work with many of London's leading advertising agencies. In 1994, David was commissioned by H.M.Tower of London to creatively photograph the complete Crown Jewels collection. In the year 2000, Royal Mail asked David to work on their prestigious Millennium celebratory stamp project and was commissioned to photograph an image for their Tree and Leaf series entitled 'forest for Scotland'. This stamp was published to celebrate August 2000 and David received a D&AD silver award for his work with Royal Mail.
David now works from his purpose built still life studio in his hometown of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. By embracing the latest developments in digital technology, David continues to undertake commissions from client's worldwide.
David has also continued to work on personal projects and produces outstanding landscape photography.
