This is a fun post revealing how to photograph moving liquid. First, get lots of plastic sheeting to cover equipment and have a large tray or bucket to catch whatever you choose to throw around. Next, throw the liquid high into the air using any type of vessel available to hand. Two plastic cups worked best for us! We captured these shots using Elinchrom studio flash and had many attempts to get this right. For some unknown reason we gained an encouraging audience! Huge […]
One of the assignment’s this week was to photograph a brand of wine for a well know supermarket chain. They wanted an outdoors, bright, summer feel to this new world limited edition Sauvignon Blanc. So, we went deep into the back garden of Woodend to create a New Zealand summer… a great challenge on a dreary day, and great fun!
So, just down the road from our studio and perfectly located in the middle of Scarborough’s bustling sea front, a wonderful Pizza Express has finally opened. Our client asked for images to capture the general atmosphere and ambience of this new seaside restaurant. Each Pizza Express is different, so we needed to focus on their maritime inspired interior. It was early morning when we started, so full service had not begun. Angela styled an exterior and interior table with food and drinks […]
Here in the studio, the still life table is often bursting to capacity with drink related products. One of my favourite clients is Boutinot who are one of the leading UK based distributors of quality wines. A unique advantage for them is that they grow their own grapes and produce their own award winning wines. Most of my work for them is to photograph their beautifully designed wine bottles in the studio. So, it was a real pleasure to be […]
This week I was delighted to hear wonderful news from one of my clients, All Seasons in Filey. Their business has been voted the 2nd Best Bed & Breakfast in the world by Trip Advisor. Check out their website to view some of the photographs that I produced for them last year. I agree that the owners attention to detail, superb accomodation and fine food can only be described as totally award winning!

The team meticulously prepare all fish and seafood by hand to a customers individual requirements. The photography took several visits to complete with early mornings and late evenings – all needed to capture the full atmosphere of the day in the life of a fish merchant. […]

The Crown Spa Hotel, Scarborough is the only 4 Star Hotel on the Yorkshire Coast. Alongside its many luxurious features, a new stylish hair salon, beauty and treatment rooms have just been added to their existing exclusive Health Club. The brief was to photograph the new areas to showcase the major refurbishments and modernisations that have been ongoing for many years and have allowed them to win many awards. In the below image you can see me giving art direction to […]
